“ After taking in the breathe-taking views, do your taste buds a favor and experience this top 100 in Canada restaurant. We tried to make a reservation but could not. However, there were 5 seats at the bar, and the hosts were able to seat the three of us minutes after walking in. We ordered a bottle of wine as we looked over the menu. The wine was fantastic, and the young, hardworking bartender, Tom, was very knowledgeable and polite. It was difficult to choose our meals as every single option sounded amazing, but in hindsight, I am convinced there are no wrong choices here as everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious. After the meal, a couple of us ordered cocktails. The smoked old fashioned was prepared right in front of us (we actually saw and smelled a few being prepared throughout the evening), and you could taste the maple syrup. I also ordered a paper plane (off-menu) and requested campari in lieu of the traditional aperol, and the bartender perfected it. ”
“ This stands out as our most memorable dinner in Banff! We took the Gondola up at 5:30pm and walked the boardwalk for an hour. Our reservation was at 7:00pm but we went up to the restaurant early to see if we could have cocktails at the bar and wait. The host let us know she would happily seat us when the next window table opened up which only took about 5 minutes. The mountain views from this restaurant are truly captivating and encouraged us to take our time with dinner. Our servers were friendly and prompt! They reviewed the menu in detail and provided great recommendations. Cocktails were delicious and well garnished. Solid wine list and fair markup. For appetizers we tried the Octopus and Pistachio Pate. Both were incredible but the Pate was truly remarkable and exceeded expectations as a plant-based dish. Highly recommend. For mains we chose the Bison and Pork Chop as well as a side of Truffle Parm Potatoes and Garlic Shrimp. Again everything was delicious but the Pork Chop really shined as it was well cooked, a large portion and included amazing accompaniments. This was too much food for two but we were able to pack it to go. We also had dessert wines to finish the dinner. By 9:00pm we were ready to take the Gondola back down. This restaurant is worth indulging at! ”
“ We decided to have our honeymoon in Banff. I saw this place on tiktok and knew we had to go. Everything was a little last minute so we got super lucky and got one of the last spots available to reserve which was when they open. We waited at the doors for them to open and they were quick to get us seated. Our server led us right to a window table and I couldn't believe how lucky we were. The view is spectacular. The food was just as good as the view! We got the duck wings as an appetizer, we had never had that before and it was insane with the jam sauce. Our steaks and dessert were also equally amazing. Our server was so great and so kind to us when we told her it was our honeymoon and our special dinner. She took great care of us. She was very talkative and answered all our questions and it was amazing listening to her take such great care of other customers in different languages. The gondola ride up is so beautiful and it was amazing to see Banff from that view during the sunset. We also went on the little hike to the viewpoint after dinner and loved that as well. We even got to see a fox!The Sky Bistro was everything I had hoped it to be for my husband and I. Thank you for making our honeymoon! ”
“ First of all, Tash was our amazing server! The view is crazy beautiful, and the food was super delicious. Cabbage salad was my absolute favorite! Fried chicken was so crunchy and yummy as well. All the other foods were delicious also. I would definitely visit again if I ever come back to banff with my friends. ”

“ What an incredible restaurant! Usually spots like this, with exceptional views, fall short on the actual food; not here! Seriously one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The new, seasonal menu had just rolled out a few days before and was spot on. The lamb appetizer was so good, we ordered a second one! And when one of our entrees didn’t live up to the quality of everything else, they graciously took it off the bill, and without our asking them to. Add to that exceptional service and the most stunning views of Banff and you’ve got a real winner! Don’t miss this. ”
“ Sky Bistro is definitely worth visiting for the views alone—absolutely stunning and a unique dining experience perched high above Banff. The service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. As for the food, it was decent but not exceptional. The burger stood out and was really good, but overall, you’re paying more for the ambiance than a culinary wow-factor. Still, it's a memorable spot and worth trying at least once for the setting and experience. ”
“ Your adventure starts trying to find parking. DO NOT TAKE ROAM TRANSIT. Yes the ROAM shuttle is free but you will not arrive or leave on time if a bus comes for you at all. Once parked you can get tickets. If you have tickets and it is within 10 minutes of your time get in line. They will not let you in line early or if you miss your time. The line moves fairly quickly and once on the gondola you will be at the top within 6 minutes. If you have time between your gondola reservation and your sky bistro reservation you can go to the observation deck or maybe even take the boardwalk to the cosmic that tower. When it's your reservation time you can stop at the restaurant and if everyone in your party is there they will start you. Our service was great. The food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen and if you had a close gondola reservation that may have been a problem but we had time and enjoyed the views and the weather changes from the large windows. Once the food arrived it was hot and just as ordered. It tasted amazing after the board walk. As we enjoyed our meal our waiter was attentive checking if our food was good or if we needed drink refills. After lunch we were with in our gondola window and we're able to get in line for our descent. Overall we enjoyed our experience.
